FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO WE NEED THE SAME TEAM FOR THE WHOLE YEAR?

Teams will be asked for an initial roster of players and team sheets will be used, however you can add new players to your roster by simply putting them on your team sheet on the day.

HOW MUCH DO THE GAMES COST?

11 aside games work out to $5 per person per game.

7 aside games work out to $6 per person per game.

5 aside games work out to $6.50 per person per game.

Team fees are based on ground hire, equipment hire, referees costs and admin fees.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE CAN'T FIELD A TEAM ONE WEEK?

If you are required to default you will lose your game and a penalty fee will be sought. This is intended to act as both a deterrent and compensation - a portion of penalty fees will be used for prizes at prize giving at the end of the season.

WHAT RULES ARE PLAYED?

We have adopted the International Socca Federation rules. You can find more out about the ISF here: https://soccafederation.com/

WHAT HAPPENS OVER CHRISTMAS/NEW YEARS?

There will be a break over the Christmas/New Year period of minimum two weeks. Plenty of notice will be given for game dates and penalty fees will be waived the games immediately before and after the break in the case you do still have players unavailable.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START AND END?

For the 2022/2023 season


Leagues start 15th October 2022 and continue until 19th March 2023.

There is a three week break from 19th December to 8th January (inclusive).

I DON'T HAVE A TEAM - CAN I STILL PLAY?

Definitely! Our 7 & 11-aside leagues at Avonhead Park will have allowances for new players to just turn up and play.

DO WE GET REFEREES?

While we strive to get referees for all games, they are hard to come by. We allocate referees in the following league order: 11s > 7s > 5s.
We reserve the right to withhold referees from teams who abuse this privilege.
